is hereby authorized and empowered to issue the bonds of said
Corporation for such sum, not to exceed Nine Thousand Dol-
lars, as may be necessary to refund Six Thousand Dollars of
the bonds issued for the construction of the Water Works in
said town, authorized by the Act of 1896, Chapter 179, and
to complete the water and sewer system authorized by the Act
of 1914, Chapter 812. Said bonds to be dated the first day of
January, in the year Nineteen Hundred and Seventeen, and
numbered from 1 to 18, both inclusive, and shall be of the
denomination of Five Hundred Dollars each; said bonds shall
bear interest at a rate not to exceed five per centum per annum,
payable semi-annually; said bonds shall become due and pay-
able in their numerical order as follows: Three bonds num-
bered one, two and three shall be payable on the first day of
January, in the year Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-seven,
and three of said bonds, in their numerical order, shall be pay-
able on the first day of January, in each and every year there-
after.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Mayor and Coun-
cil of Rockville shall have full power and authority and are
hereby required to levy all necessary taxes upon property with-
in the taxable limits of said Corporation for the payment of
the interest on the bonds hereby authorized to be issued and
for the payment of the principal of said bonds as they mature.

CHAPTER 75.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter 610
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1912, relating to the
encouragement of the location of factories, plants, and the
like in Hagerstown and elsewhere in Washington County,
by the exemption of such from County and Municipal tax-
ation for a limited period.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 616 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of 1912, relating to the exemption of factories, plants
and the like in Hagerstown and elsewhere in Washington
County, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
