from said license to be paid to the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County to be credited by them to the gen-
eral fund of said County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That each applicant
for such a license shall pay the yearly sum of ten dollars
($10. 00) if he be a resident of said County; the sum of twenty-
five dollars ($25. 00) if he be a resident of the State outside
of said County; and the sum of fifty dollars ($50. 00) if he
be not a resident of the State; and no license shall be issued
by said Clerk of the County Court to any such person until
the aforesaid license fee has been paid and until such person
has made oath as to his place of residence.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That every person con-
ducting a sale in violation of Section 1 of this Act shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
fined not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty dollars in
the discretion of the Court.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from June 1st, 1916.

CHAPTER 590.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Howard County to employ one attorney-at-law to act as legal
adviser and represent the Board of County Commissioners
of Howard County, the Board of School Commissioners of
Howard County, County Treasurer and Collector of Howard
County, County Surveyor and Engineer of Howard County,
and the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Howard Coun-
ty; to provide for his compensation, and to abolish the
special counsel now acting and existing for said boards and
to repeal all acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Howard County be.
and they are hereby authorized and directed to employ at an
annual salary of four hundred dollars per annum, payable
quarterly, one attorney-at-law, to act for and represent as legal
adviser the Board of County Commissioners of Howard County,
