EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 1201

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That a new section be
and the same is hereby added to said Article 81, to follow
immediately after Section 233 thereof, to be known as Section
233-A, and to read as follows:

233-A. Any Clerk of Court, Register of Wills, Sheriff,
State's Attorney or Collector, and any officer of the State
Tobacco Warehouse, or of any department, board, commis-
sion or institution embraced within the provisions of Section
230 of this Act, who shall knowingly fail and refuse to com-
ply with any order or orders which the Board of Public
Works may make and prescribe under the authority of said
section, with respect to his office or institution, or who shall
knowingly fail and refuse to comply with any other provision
of this law, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be
subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars, nor more than
five hundred dollars, or to imprisonment for not less than
thirty days, nor more than six months, or both, in the dis-
cretion ^of the Court, for each and every such offense.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, in the year one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

CHAPTER 588.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the Board of County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County to levy and pay the
sum of two hundred thirty-five dollars and 13/100 ($235. 13)
to James B. Allison for a Liquor License issued to him by
the Board of Liquor License Commissioners for said Coun-
ty for the period from October 4, 1910, to May 1, 1911.

WHEREAS, James B. Allison on October 4, 1910, purchased
from Catherine Laupp her liquor and hotel business conducted
by her at the Rams Horn Inn, Prince George's County, in-
cluding the liquor license issued to her by the Board of Liquor
License Commissioners for said County for the period from
May 1, 1910, to May 1, 1911, and for which she paid the sum
of four hundred dollars ($400);

AND WHEREAS, The said Allison requested the said Liquor
Board to transfer said license to him which was refused by
