all feed and supplies of every kind, and to assign the same to the
several road districts, and in case it shall be at any time advisable
in their opinion to sell or dispose of any of the horses, mules,
wagons, road machinery or other road equipment, they shall
have full power to dispose of the same in such manner as in
their judgment will produce the beet results.

CHAPTER 587.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 230 and 233 of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, "
sub-title "State Auditor, " and to re-enact said Sections with
amendments; and also to add two new Sections to said Arti-
cle and sub-title, one to follow immediately after Section
230 thereof, to be known as Section 230-A, and authorizing
the Comptroller to call upon the State Auditor to investi-
gate and audit claims and vouchers; and the other to follow
immediately after Section 233 of said Article, to be known
as Section 233A, and prescribing penalties for the violation
of this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 230 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "State Audi-
tor, '' be and the same hereby is repealed and. re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

230. The State Auditor, with the aid of the Deputy State
Auditors and the assistants, shall on or before the first day of
December in each and every year make an examination of
the books, accounts and reports of all Clerks of Courts,
Registers of Wills, Sheriffs, State's Attorneys, and all Col-
lectors of State Taxes of the State of Maryland, including
the City of Baltimore. He shall also, with the aid of the Dep-
uty State Auditors and the assistants, on or before the first
day of December in each and every year examine the books
and accounts of the State Tobacco Warehouse, and such
other books and accounts of State offices, departments, boards,
commissions or institutions not herein enumerated as the Board
of Public Works may direct. He shall also, with the aid of
the Deputy State Auditors and the assistants, on or before the
