by authorized and required to draw his warrant upon the
Treasurer in favor of Garrett County School Board for the
sum of four thousand dollars ($4, 000. 00) per annum for two
years, out of^ the proceeds of the State School Tax before mak-
ing apportionment thereof; provided, however, that no portion
of said four thousand dollars ($4, 000. 0) per annum, shall be
used for any other purpose than for salaries and ordinary run-
ning expenses of said schools.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the Board of School Com-
missioners of Garrett County shall pay the school teachers of
said County the sums of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250. 00)
and three hundred dollars ($300. 00) as minimum salaries, in-
stead of two hundred dollars ($200. 00) and two hundred and
fifty dollars ($250. 00) as at present, and Garrett County shall
be exempt for a period of two years, from the provisions of Sec-
tion 60 of Article 77 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland.

SEC 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 566.

AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 59 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Lunatics and Insane, " sub-title
"Lunatic or Insane Paupers, " said Section to follow imme-
diately after Section 1 of said Article, to be known as Sec-
tion 1-A; to repeal Section 3 of said Article and sub-title,
and. re-enact the same with amendments, and to add two
new Sections to said Article and sub-title, the same to fol-
low immediately after Section 3 thereof, to be known, re-
spectively as Sections 3-A and 3-B, providing for the pay-
ment for the maintenance and support of lunatic or insane
persons now committed and hereafter to be committed to
hospitals or other institutions; to repeal Section 37 of said
Article, sub-title "Lunacy Commission, " relating to volun-
tary commitments, and re-enact the same with amendments;
to repeal Section 41 of said Article, sub-title "Lunacy Com-
mission, " relating to leave of absence or parole, and to re-
enact the same with amendments; to add two new Sections
to said Article, sub-title "Maryland Asylum and Training
