count for and deliver same to said road engineer whenever re-
quired by said engineer to do so.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 550.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 250
and 251 of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Harford County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " and to add two
new Sections to said Article 13 to be known as Sections
251-A and 251-B.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 250 and 251 of Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Harford County, " sub-title "Sheriff, "
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, and that two new sections are hereby added to
said Article 13 to be known as Sections 251-A and 251-B, said
amended sections and new sections to read as follows:

SEC. 250. The Board of County Commissioners of Harford
County are authorized and directed to levy for and pay to the
sheriff of Harford County, annually, in equal monthly pay-
ments, the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars, which sum shall
be in full for all claims of said sheriff against Harford County
or said Board of County Commissioners, for his care, labor, re-
sponsibility and expense in discharging the duties of his office,
including the keeping safe in jail, the prisoners committed to his
custody, the cooking and serving to said prisoners the provisions
furnished for them by said Board of County Commissioners, as
hereinafter provided, the necessary washing for said prisoners
and keeping the jail in a cleanly condition; and said Board of
County Commissioners shall not pay said sheriff for any services
he may render in the discharge of his official duties, any fur-
ther or other compensation, and shall not be in any way 'liable
for any other fee or compensation whatever, to said sheriff
than as above provided for <the discharge of his official duties,
