Section 142. The Mayor and Councilmen, shall at their
first meeting of the fiscal year, or as soon after as convenient,
appoint one person to act as Bailiff, and as many persons to
act as Policemen and night Policemen as they may deem neces-
sary for the proper protection of the town of Frostburg, and
shall prescribe by ordinance the oath to be taken by them and
the bond to be required of them.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the duties of the said Bail-
iff and Policemen shall be such duties as the Mayor and
Councilmen of Frostburg shall prescribe.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
on the first Monday of May, 1917.

CHAPTER 64.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 54
of the Code of Local Laws of Prince George's County, title
"Bladensburg. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 54 of the Code of Local Laws of
Prince George's County, Maryland, be, and the same is here-
by repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
Section 54. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Commissioners of said Village shall ap-
point three persons from among the voters thereof, who shall
give at least five days' notice, by posting not less than three
written or printed notices in conspicuous public places in said
Village of the time and place at which said election shall be
held, and the said judges of election, before opening the polls,
shall make oath or affirmation before some justice of the peace
for Prince George's County, that they will fairly and im-
partially act as judges of said election; and the said judges
shall keep the polls open from two o'clock P. M. until seven
o'clock P. M., and shall record the names of the voters, and '
after the closing of the polls shall count the ballots and an-
nounce the result, and make and sign a certificate thereof to bo
filed among the records of said Corporation.
