928 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County," sub-title "Police
Stations," an enacted by Chapter 199 of the Acts of 1910, en-
titled "An Act to repeal Chapter 198 of Article 3 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Baltimore County,'
sub-title 'Police and Police Stations,' of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Marylond, passed at the January Session, 1908,
and also to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 289,
290, 292 and 293 of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title 'Baltimore County,' relating to Police and
Police Stations, as enacted by Chapter 495 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session,
nineteen hundred and eight," be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

SEC. 293. That the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County shall levy annually a sufficient sum not exceeding fifty-
five thousand dollars upon the taxable property in Baltimore
County to pay said policemen, including the marshal or officers
of any other designation "or rank on said force, and for such
other and proper expenses as in their judgment may be required
to promote the efficiency, discipline and usefulness of such police
force.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 547.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Treasurer of the State of
Maryland and the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City
to refund to Lawrence J. McCormick and Herman L. Busch-
man, Receivers of the firm of Shea & McGuire, certain monies
paid in advance by said firm for a wholesale liquor dealer's
license for a period including eight months, during which said
firm was not in the wholesale liquor business.

WHEREAS, John M. Shea and Luke P. McGuire, trading as
Shea & McGuire, at No. 506 N. Gay Street, Baltimore, Mary-
land, did on or about April 29th, 1913, pay to Adam Deupert.
Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City, the sum
of one thousand and one dollars ($1,001.00) for a wholesale
liquor dealer's license of the State of Maryland for twelve
months accounting to the first day of May, 1914, for the sale of
"liquors by wholesale dealers or jobbers, other than wholesale
