SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That all licenses granted-
under the authority of Section 1 of this Act shall expire on
the first day of May next ensuing the date of their issue.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That any person desir-
ing to obtain a license to hold moving picture exhibitions shall
file an application in writing with the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Baltimore County in which shall be stated, first, the
name and residence of the applicant and how long he has re-
sided there; second, the place of birth of the applicant and,
if a naturalized citizen, when and where he was naturalized;
third, the name and owner of 'the premises upon which the
business licensed is to be carried on; fourth, the particular
place where the business is to be conducted under the license
sought, specifying the same by definite designation and
description, which said application shell be verified by the
affidavit made before the Clerk of the said Court of the ap-
plicant; and if any false statement is made in any part of said
application the applicant shall be deemed guilty of perjury
and upon indictment and conviction shall be punished ac-
cordingly.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, There shall be annexed
to said application a certificate signed by at least ten reputable
taxpayers, bona fide residents of the neighborhood in which,
the applicant proposes to conduct the business under the li-
cense applied fer, in which the persons certifying shall each
state his residence, place of business and that the location of
the proposed moving picture exhibition will not be detrimental
to the interests of the taxpayers in the vicinity; and no per-
son shall certify to more than one application.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, Upon the filing of said
application and certificate the applicant shall pay to the Clerk
with whom the same is filed the sum of four dollars to be ap-
plied to paying the expense of advertising hereinafter pro-
vided for, and thereupon such clerk shall within one week
after the filing of said application . publish a notice in some
newspaper published in Baltimore County and shall continue
to publish said notice for two successive weeks; said notice
shall state the applicant or applicants have filed such ap-
plication, the place where the business is to be conducted and
that unless cause is shown to the contrary on or before twenty-
one days from the filing of said application the license ap-
plied for will be issued, provided the aplicant abides with the
requirements of this law thereto.
