'888 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 522.

AN ACT to release Salem Lodge No. 60, Independent Order of
Odd Fellows, of Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland,
from the payment of any taxes on "Its Bonded Indebtedness
of $7,500.00," which bonds are secured by a mortgage on
its real estate; which real estate is assessed at its full market
value, to-wit: $7,820.00, and upon which it pays taxes, State,
County and Municipal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Salem Lodge No. 60, Independent Order of Odd
Fellows, of Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, be released
from the payment of any taxes on its bonded indebtedness of
$7,500.00, which bonds are secured by a mortgage on its real
estate, upon which said real estate it pays taxes to its full value.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from- the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 523.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 392 of
Article 23 of Bagby's Annotated Code of Maryland of 1910,
entitled "Corporations," sub-title "Turnpike, Plank Road
and Passenger Railway Companies,'' as amended by Chapter
587 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of the
year 1912.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 392 of Article 23 of Bagby's Annotated
Code of Maryland of 1910, entitled "Corporations," sub-title
"Turnpike, Plank Road and Passenger Railway Companies,"
as amended by Chapter 587 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of the year 1912, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

SEC. 392. It shall be the duty of all companies which may
have been or may hereafter be incorporated under any law
or laws of this State to make any turnpike, plank road or other
toll road or roads, to keep and maintain the same in good order
and repair and of such width as required by the terms of the
law under or by which incorporated; and if any such company
shall fail to keep its road in good order and repair or of the
width required by the terms of its charter or of the provisions
