and make a plat and description of the same, and the lot so laid
off shall be sold by the plat and description so made, and it shall
be sufficient in the advertisement of the list of delinquent tax-
payers to mention the quantity of land to be sold from the prop-
erty described, "as per plat and description to be exhibited on
day of sale," and the County Surveyor is hereby required to
make all surveys, plats and descriptions required hereunder, and
to complete and deliver the same to the Town Clerk on or before
the day of sale, as advertised, and he shall receive therefor a
sum not exceeding Five Dollars for each and every survey, plat
and description so made and delivered, said sum to be fixed by
the Town Clerk in each case after consideration of the work
involved therein, and to be taxed as part of the costs and paid
out of the proceeds of sale of such land, or by the delinquent
taxpayers, if payment is made before the day of sale; and th6
Town Clerk shall direct the surveyor where to locate the part
of said property to be sold and shall file the plat and descrip-
tion thereof, with his Report of Sales to the Circuit Court for
Queen Anne's County; provided, that if a delinquent taxpayer
is assessed with more than one lot in said town, only such num-
ber of lots shall be sold as may be necessary to discharge all
taxes in arrear, interest and costs, with which such taxpayer
may be charged.
59-L. In case of a vacancy by death, resignation, refusal to
serve or neglect to qualify, or give bond, or by disqualification,
or removal from the town of any Town Clerk appointed under
this Act, or by removal or dismissal of said Town Clerk by the
said Town Commissioners of Centreville, the said Commissioners
shall appoint a person to be Town Clerk for the remainder
of the official term, and the Town Clerk so appointed to fill the
said vacancy or unexpired term caused by any of the aforesaid
causes shall have all of the powers and authority of the Town
Clerk he succeeds, and may complete the duties of said preced-
ing Town Clerk as fully as if said Town Clerk could have done
had he completed the term for which he was appointed. All
books, papers and documents belonging to the office of Town
Clerk are the property of said town of Centreville, and at all
times subject to examination by said Town Commissioners or
any of them, and the said Town Commissioners shall allow said
Town Clerk all necessary expenses incident to the collection of
the taxes hereinbefore provided for, including the premium on
his bond required to be given, provided he shall first obtain an
order therefor from said Town Commissioners.
