operative and in full force, the intention being that there shall
be but the one subscription of one hundred thousand dollars,
and the issue of but one hundred thousand dollars of bonds of
said County for the benefit of said Baltimore and Virginia Rail-
road Company under this Act and the said Act of 1912.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 438.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 45-A,
of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title '' Howard
County," sub-title ''County Commissioners and County Col-
lectors," as said Section was enacted by Chapter 369 of the
Acts of 1908, which Act is amendatory of Chapter 304 of the
Acts of 1904.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 45-A of Article 14 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, title "Howard County," sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and County Collectors," as said Section was enacted by
Chapter 369 of the Acts of 1908, which Act is amendatory of
Chapter 304 of the Acts of 1904, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

45-A. The County Commissioners of Howard County shall
in each year contract with some newspaper published in How-
ard County for all printing and advertising of every kind,
character and description, including election printing and ad-
vertising for primary and general elections or registration,
which may be found necessary by the said County Commis-
sioners, provided that no contract authorized by this Section to
be made by said County Commissioners with such newspaper
shall exceed for the cost of such printing and advertising the
sum of four thousand five hundred dollars in any one year.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 13th, 1914.
