CHAPTER 53.
AN ACT to repeal Section 83 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title. "Talbot County," sub-title
"Easton," as passed-by the General Assembly of Maryland,
at the January Session of 1906, Chapter 458, as amended by
Chapter 365 of the Acts of 1910, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 83 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title "Easton,"
as passed by the General Assembly of Maryland at the January
Session of 1906, Chapter 458, as amended by Chapter 365 of
the Acts of 1910, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
SEC. 83. All books, documents and papers, accounts, credits
and deposits belonging to the Town Clerk's office or in the
custody of the Town Clerk, shall be immediately delivered up
and transferred by him to his successor in office when such suc-
cessor is duly appointed and qualified, provided, that the tax
levies placed in said Town Clerk's hands for his collection, or so
much thereof as may be uncollected or unaccounted for by him,
and for which his bond is responsible shall not be delivered or
assigned over to his successor in office, and his rights, powers
and duties as to collecting and reporting the same shall con-
tinue, and he shall collect and pay over the same as collected
to the Mayor and Council by certificates of deposit as provided
for in the Charter of Easton and amendments thereto.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title
'' Easton,'' as passed by the General Assembly of Maryland at
the January Session of 1906, Chapter 458, as amended by
Chapter 365 of the Acts of 1910, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
