656 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

to solicit, take or receive orders within the limits of Kent
County, for the purchase or delivery of any spirituous or fer-
mented or intoxicating liquor of any origin whatever, or alco-
holic bitters.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Kent County," sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," be
and the same is hereby amended by adding a new Section there-
to, to follow Section 151-A thereof, to be numbered Section 151-B
and to read as follows:

151-B. It shall not be lawful for any person, house, corpora-
tion, company or association, to solicit, take or receive, at any
place within the limits of Kent County, any order, or orders,
for the purchase or delivery of any spirituous, fermented or in-
toxicating liquors of any origin whatever, or alcoholic bitters,
and any person, house, corporation, company, or association vio-
lating the provisions of this Section shall, on conviction thereof,
forfeit and pay on the first conviction a fine of not less than
Fifty Dollars, nor more than Three Hundred Dollars, and the
cost of prosecution, and be imprisoned in the County Jail for
thirty days; and on the second and every subsequent conviction,
not less than One Hundred Dollars, nor more than Five Hun-
dred Dollars, and costs of prosecution, and be imprisoned in the
County Jail for not less than sixty, nor more than ninety
days and in default of the payment of such fine and costs, he or
they shall remain in the said County Jail after his or their
terms of imprisonment until such fines and costs are paid, one-
half of any fine imposed for the violation of this Section shall
go to the informer and the residue to the Board of School Com-
missioners of Kent County, or if no informer, the whole fine
to the Board of School Commissioners of said County, for the
use of the public schools therein.

SEC. 2. And be, it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
