SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all defenses, including limitations and laches, may
be pleaded by any stockholder of any corporation now or here-
after dissolved by judicial proceedings, as effectually as by such
corporation or the receiver thereof, at any time before the final
ratification of the auditor's account distributing the assets of
such corporation among its creditors and stockholders.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day of
September, nineteen hundred and sixteen.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the expenditures in the support of the State
Government for the fiscal year beginning with the first day of
October, nineteen hundred and fifteen, and ending with the
thirtieth day of September, nineteen hundred and sixteen, the
following sums of money, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary, be and the same are hereby appropriated, that is to say:
FOR STATE OFFICERS.
For the salary of the Governor, four thousand five hundred
dollars; for the salary of the Secretary of State, two thousand
dollars; for the salary of the Chief Clerk to the Governor,
twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary of one clerk to the
Governor, two thousand dollars; for the salaries of two clerks
to the Governor, fifteen hundred dollars each, three thousand
dollars; for the salary of the stenographer to the
Governor, twelve hundred dollars; for the salary of
the messenger to the Governor, eleven hundred dollars; for
the salary of the Comptroller of the Treasury, two thousand five
hundred dollars; for the salary of the Chief Clerk to the Comp-
troller, twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary of one
assistant clerk to the Comptroller, twenty-two hundred dollars;
for the salaries of four assistant clerks to the Comptroller, fifteen
hundred dollars each, six thousand dollars; for the salary of
one assistant clerk to the Comptroller, twelve hundred dollars;
for the salary of the Treasurer of the State, two thousand five
