to each State Normal School, two to each Standard College, two
to the State Department of Education, twenty to the State Li-
brary Commission for traveling libraries, one to each Public
Library established by the State Library Commission, two to
each City and County School Board (one for each office; one for
teachers' library), five to the State Library, one to the Gov-
ernor, one to the Secretary of State, one to the Land Office, one
to the Comptroller's Office, one to the Treasurer's Office; the re-
mainder of the said two hundred and fifty (250) copies to be
deposited in the State. Library for distribution as the State Li-
brary Committee may direct.

SECTION 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 376.

AN ACT to amend and re-enact Section 189 of Article 23 of the
Code of Public General Laws, Revision of 1904, title "Corpo-
rations," sub-title "Insurance Department," providing for
the publication of the abstracts of the annual statements of
insurance companies.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 189 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, Revision of 1904, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

189. The Insurance Commissioner shall, annually, at the
time of issuing a license to each insurance company doing busi-
ness in this State, publish an abstract of the annual statement
required by this Article, of each insurance company doing busi-
ness in this State, once a week for three consecutive weeks, in a
daily newspaper published in the City of Baltimore, except that
in case of insurance companies of this State having their prin-
cipal office in one of the Counties of this State, the newspaper
selected for such publication must be published in the County
where such company is located; the companies shall, in addition,
publish in another paper, said abstract, three consecutive times;
and the insurance commissioner and the company shall cause
the first appearance of the publication of the abstract ,of all
companies prior to the first day of April; and the actual net
cost of said publication by the insurance commissioner he is
hereby authorized to collect from each company, the abstract
