State against the other ex-Sheriffs since 1901 would be, under
the circumstances, a hardship and'an unjust discrimination, and
that the demand of justice will be satisfied if the said William
H. Green, Robert J. Padgett, George W. Padgett and George
Warfield save the State harmless from the payment of any
counsel fees or Court costs incurred in the prosecution of said
suits.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That upon the payment to the State Treasurer of Mary-
land of all court costs as may have accrued in any of the Courts
of this State by reason of the prosecution of the suits of the
State against William H. Green, Robert J. Padgett, George W.
Padgett and George Warfield, and the payment of such reason-
able sums as the Attorney-General of the State may deem just
and proper for counsel fees for extra counsel employed by the
State in the prosecution of said claims, the judgment of the
State versus William H. Green be entered satisfied and the
claims of the State against Robert J. Padgett, George W. Pad-
gett and George Warfield be entered agreed and settled.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 294.

AN ACT to authorize and require the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County to make a special levy of not more than
twenty cents on each one hundred dollars of the assessable
real estate in the village of Lutherville, Baltimore County, for
the maintenance, upkeep and improvement of roads and
paths in said village, if twenty-five or more persons owning
taxable real estate in said village shall petition thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of County Commissioners for Baltimore
County, at the time of the annual tax levy for this year, and
each succeeding year, are hereby authorized, directed and re-
quired to make a special annual levy of such amount as may be
mentioned in the petition hereinafter referred to, on each one
hundred dollars of the whole assessable real estate in the village
of Lutherville, in Baltimore County, to be collected as other
County taxes in said County are collected, and to be paid over
