412 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby
appropriated out of money in the Treasury of Maryland, not
otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of erecting suitable
and appropriate markers around the boundaries of the lands of
Washington Cemetery, at Hagerstown, Maryland, and for erect-
ing a suitable memorial arch therein, said money to be expended
for the purposes above set forth by the duly constituted Trus-
tees of the said Washington Cemetery, and the construction and
erection of said markers and memorial arch to be done by
and under the supervision of the said Trustees.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Comptroller of the
Treasury be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to draw
his warrant upon the Treasurer of Maryland, payable to the
order of the said Trustees, or a majority of them, for such sum
of money, not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), as
may be necessary for the erection of said markers and memorial
arch.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Trustees, or a ma-
jority of them, be and they are hereby required to make a full
report and account to the Governor of Maryland of their pro-
ceedings and expenditures of monies in the premises.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 278.

AN ACT to establish a County home for Garrett County, Mary-
land.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Garrett County, to-
gether with a Committee of ten men, are hereby authorized
by law to select a suitable location, as near the County seat as
is possible so to do. The farm to contain from one hundred (100)
to three hundred (300) acres of good tillable land, and to make
arrangements for the erection of all necessary buildings on
the said farm to accommodate the inmates and employees.
The County Commissioners and said Committee are authorized
and empowered to fully equip said County Home and farm with
all the stock, horses and farming implements, required to run
said County home successfully.
