SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 250.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Common
Council of the Town of Mt. Rainier, a municipal corporation,
in Prince George's County, to issue bonds and appropriate the
proceeds arising from the sale thereof for establishing, con-
structing and maintaining a sewer and water system in the
said Town of Mt. Rainier; to submit the issue of said bonds
to the qualified voters thereof for determination; to condemn
such land as may be necessary for the building of said system;
and to levy taxes on the assessable property of said town to
redeem said bonds and to pay the interest thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of establishing, constructing and
maintaining a sewer and water system for the Town of Mt.
Rainier, in Prince George's County, State of Maryland, the
Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Mt. Rainier be and
they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed, to issue
coupon bonds, to be called "Mt. Rainier Sewer and Water
Bonds," to an amount not to exceed the sum of one hundred
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary for
the purposes aforesaid. The said bonds shall be for the sums
of not less than five hundred ($500) dollars each, nor more than
one thousand ($1,000) dollars each; they shall be issued under
the corporate seal of the Town of Mt. Rainier, signed by the
Mayor of said town and countersigned by the Clerk and Treas-
urer thereof, dated on the first day of their issue and in the
year thereof, and shall bear interest at a rate not to exceed six
per centum per annum, payable semi-annually in each and every
year after date of said bonds, the said interest to the maturity
of each of said bonds, respectively, for the interest due and pay-
able thereon, and which said bonds shall have printed on them a
distinct reference to the Act authorizing the issue and be for-
ever exempt from all county and municipal taxation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all the bonds issued
under the provisions of this Act shall be numbered consecutively
and be redeemable as follows, that is to say: Two thousand
($2,000) dollars thereof three years from the date of the issue,
