PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 313

SEC. 17-A. Be it enacted, That the Burgess and Council of
Myersville shall have full power to provide for the introduction
of electric power, light and gas into said town, and to effectuate
Such object may contract with or grant unto any other body
corporation, public or private, or to any individual or partner-
ship the right of franchise within the limits of said town for the
purpose of operating electric power, light or gas plants, the
granting of such franchise to be regulated by the ordinances of
said Burgess and Council of Myersville; and in order to carry
out and effectuate the construction of such plants and the pro-
visions of this Section, the said Burgess and Council shall have
the power and authority to grant the right to erect poles, cables,
wires and to lay pipes, conduits, manholes on, over or under
the streets, alleys and highways of said town, and generally to
do all other things that may be necessary to provide gas and
electric light and power for said town; and authority is hereby
given the said Burgess and Council of Myersville to condemn
private properties if the same may be necessary for the opera-
tion of the aforesaid franchise, said condemnation proceeding to
be in accordance with the general laws of the State of Maryland
as in such cases are applicable thereto; the said Burgess and
Council shall have the power to contract for the furnishing or
supplying of electric light, power or gas in sufficient quantities
for the need of the town and the inhabitants thereof, with any
body corporate, public or private, or with any individual or
individuals, or with any partnerships; they shall have full power
to pass such ordinances as may be necessary to carry into effect
the provisions of this Section subject to the conditions set forth
in Section 17-C of this Act.

SEC. 17-B. Be it enacted, That the Burgess and Council of
Myersville are hereby authorized and empowered to prohibit
any individual, firm or corporation from conducting any bowl-
ing alley or alleys in said town which is now or may hereafter
be operated or conducted to the annoyance, discomfort or detri-
ment to any of the inhabitants or citizens of said town; or to
provide by ordinance for the regulation and licensing of any
bowling alley or alleys conducted by any individual, firm or
corporation.

SEC. 17-C. Be it enacted, That the Burgess and Council of
Myersville are hereby authorized and empowered to provide by
ordinance for supplying said town with the product of any
public utility upon such terms and conditions as it shall think
proper, provided, however, that no such ordinance shall become
