as in their discretion may be most needed. And the Commis-
sioners of Chestertown are hereby authorized and directed to
lay, build and construct said streets or driveways from curb
to curb, or for such width as to said Commissioners may seem
proper and necessary, with macadam and asphalt top in a man-
ner similar to the street or driveway now constructed from
the Voshell House Corner to the foot of High Street or of prac-
tically like material and workmanship or of cement. And the
said Commissioners may contract for said work and material
or have said streets or driveways laid and constructed under
such terms and agreements as to them may seem most advan-
tageous.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That at the next regular election
for Commissioners of Chestertown, there shall be submitted to
the qualified voters of Chestertown, the question whether bonds
shall be issued for sewers and street construction "and improve-
ments, and at such election the ballots cast upon that question
shall have the words "For Street and Sewer Bonds," or
"Against Street .and Sewer Bonds," thereon, and if the ma-
jority of the votes cast upon said question shall be "Por Street
and Sewer Bonds," then the Commissioners of Chestertown, or
a majority of them, shall proceed to execute the power vested
in them by this Act, but if the majority of votes cast shall be
"Against Street and Sewer Bonds," then this Act shall be of
no effect.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 215.

AN ACT to pay the Dulany-Vernay Company the sum of One
Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($1,870,00)
for furnishing Desks, Chairs, and other equipment for the
different Committee Rooms of the Senate of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sev-
enty Dollars ($1,870.00) be and the same is hereby appropriated
out of the Treasury of the State of Maryland out of any funds
not otherwise appropriated, to the Dulany-Vernay Company for
furnishing Desks, Chairs, and other equipment for the differ-
ent Committee Rooms of the Maryland State Senate.
