vided by the aforesaid Sections and Article of the Public General
Laws of Maryland.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the title to said
Electric and Power System and all other parts thereto shall,
when completed or acquired, vest in the Town of Mt. Rainier, a
municipal corporation; and the Mayor and Common Council of
the Town of Mt. Rainier shall have the power to fix schedules of
rates for furnishing electric light and power for service to pri-
vate residences and other buildings in the said Town of Mt. Rain-
ier, the income thereof to be applied to the maintenance of said
system, except as hereinafter provided, such charges thereof to
be payable as the Mayor and Common Council shall direct; and,
the said Mayor and Common Council may, in their discretion,
contract with any person or corporation outside the corporate
limits of said town to furnish Electric Light and Power or
either; the said Mayor and Common Council are furthermore
fully authorized to pass all necessary ordinances, with penalties
for their violation, for the proper installation, security, protec-
tion and use of said Electric Light and Power System.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the said Mayor and
Common Council of the Town of Mt. Rainier shall have authority,
and are hereby authorized, empowered and directed so to do, to
levy annually upon all assessable property of said Town a tax
sufficient to pay said bonds and the coupons thereon, as said
bonds and coupons may severally mature as herein provided;
provided, however, that the said Mayor and Common Council
may, in its discretion, apply to the payment of said bonds and
coupons and surplus left from the revenue derived from the
charges made for Electric or Power facilities after all operation
and maintenance expenses have been paid, the taxes herein pro-
vided being reduced accordingly.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That a special election
shall be held in the said town of Mt. Rainier on the third Tues-
day in April, 1914, said election to be held in the same manner
and under the same regulations, unless herein otherwise pro-
vided, as municipal elections in said town are held, for the pur-
pose of submitting to the qualified voters in said town the ques-
tion as to whether the bonds herein authorized shall be issued;
and should the said question be determined in favor of said
bond issue at said special election, then, and in that event, the
said Mayor and Common Council are authorized, empowered
and directed to proceed with the issue and sale of said bonds
as hereinbefore provided. Should the said question be deter-
