National Star-Spangled Banner Centennial Commission in
Baltimore, September, 1914.
WHEREAS, It is the purpose of the State of Maryland and the
City of Baltimore, through the representation of the National
Star-Spangled Banner Centennial Commission, to fittingly cele-
brate the final achievement of the Independence of the United
States of America, which, celebration is to be held in the City
of Baltimore, September 12, 1914, and thereafter in accordance
with the plans of said celebration prepared by said Commission,
and to commemorate as well the Centenary of the birth of the
national anthem of these United States, and to fittingly mark,
in accordance with said plans of said Commission, the places of
historic interest associated and connected with the aforesaid
objects.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75,000),
be and the same is hereby appropriated to aid in the suitable
commemoration by the National Star-Spangled Banner Cen-
tennial Commission of the Centenary of the final achievement
of National Independence and the writing of the American Na-
tional Anthem and related historical events.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of the
State of Maryland shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller
of the Treasury, pay the aforesaid sum of money herein appro-
priated when and in such amounts as may be required for the
objects and purposes hereinbefore specified to the Treasurer of
the National Star-Spangled Banner Centennial Commission upon
the order of the Treasurer of the said National Star-Spangled
Banner Centennial Commission countersigned by the President
thereof.

CHAPTER 168.
"AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Cumber-
land to issue bonds to an amount not to exceed $60,000, to be
applied to the payment of the balance due and to be paid on
account of the construction and installation of the Water
Supply authorized by the Acts of 1910, Chapter 478."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland be, and
