jury trial on the part of the state, it shall be the duty of such
Justice to commit such alleged offender for trial, or to hold
him to bail to appear for trial in the Circuit Court for said
County at its then or next session and to return said commit-
ment or recognizance, with the names and residences of the wit-
nesses for the prosecution endorsed thereon, forthwith to the
Clerk of the said Court; and the Justice of the Peace before
whom the accused is brought for trial shall, prior to the begin-
ning of the trial, inform him of his right to demand a trial by
jury. If after trial before a Justice of the Peace either party
shall feel aggrieved by the judgment of such Justice of the
Peact, there shall be a right of appeal within ten days to the
Circuit Court for said County.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of May in the year nineteen hundred
and fourteen.

CHAPTER 859.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-Section
" L," entitled '' Use of streets by tracks, poles and wires,'' of
paragraph 26, entitled "Streets, Bridges and Highways," of
Section 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, Ar-
ticle 4, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Charter," as the
same is codified in the City Code of 1906, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section "L," entitled "Use of Streets by Tracks,
Poles and Wires," of Paragraph 26, entitled "Streets, Bridges
and Highways,'' of Section 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, Article 4, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title
'' Charter,'' as the same is codified in the City Code of 1906, be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:
(L) Use of Streets by Tracks, Poles and Wires.
To regulate the use of streets, lanes or alleys in said City, by
railway or other tracks, gas or other pipes, telegraph, telephone,
electric light or other wires and poles, in, under, over or upon
the same, and to require all such wires to be placed under ground
