SEC. 286. The Board of County Commissioners are auth-
orized at any time, when in their judgment it may seem best,
to employ an Engineer for the purpose of constructing roads
or bridges in any of the Election Districts of Prince George's
County. Any compensation paid such Engineer so employed
shall be charged to the amount apportioned to said Election
District and paid thereout.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted that this Act. shall take
effect from the date of its passage."

CHAPTER 802.
AN ACT to repeal Article 97 of the Annotated Code of the Public
Civil Laws of Maryland, edited by George P. Bagby, title
"Weights and Measurer," as enacted by Chapters 299, 353
and 738 of the Acts of 1910, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article 97 of the Annotated Code of the Public Civil
Laws of Maryland, edited by George P. Bagby, title "Weights
and Measures," as enacted by Chapters 299, 353 and 73S of
the Acts of 1910, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
SEC. 1. The standards for weights and measures in this
State, except as otherwise provided in this Article, shall be
the same as the standards of weights and measures of the United
States.
SEC. 2. The County Commissioners of each County, shall,
on or before the first day of May in each year, appoint some
person, or persons, as inspector or inspectors of standards of
weights and measures, who shall safely keep and preserve the
same, and, when required, deliver them to said County Com-
missioners, or to such persons as they may appoint to receive
the same; and who shall perform the duties as. prescribed by
this Article in the territory for which they have been appointed.
SEC. 3. The Comptroller of Baltimore City shall appoint
such number of inspectors of standards of weights and measures
as may be required for said city, said appointment to be made
in the way and manner now, or that may hereafter be, adopted
by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore under and by vir-
