No contract or insurance issued by a stock company or mu-
tual association against liability arising under this Act shall be
cancelled within the time limited in such contract for its expi-
ration until at least ten days after notice of intention to cancel
such contract, on a date specified in such notice, shall be filed
in the office of the Commission and also served on the employer.
Such notice shall be served on the employer by delivering it to
him or by sending it by mail, by registered letter, addressed to
the employer at his or its last known place of residence; pro-
vided, that if the employer be a partnership, then such notice
may be so given to any one of the partners, and if the em-
ployer be a corporation, then the notice may be given to any
agent or officer of the corporation upon whom legal process
may be served.

SEC. 31. Nothing herein shall affect any existing contract
of policy of employer's liability insurance or the liability of any
mutual insurance association, or any arrangement now exist-
ing between employers and employes, providing for the pay-
ment to such employes, their families, dependents or represen-
tatives of sick, accident or death benefits in addition to the com-
pensation provided for by this Act; but liability for the com-
pensation specified in this Act shall not be reduced or affected
by any insurance, contribution or other benefit whatsoever,
due to or received by the person entitled to such compensation,
and the person so entitled shall, irrespective, of any such insur-
ance or other contract, have the right to recover the compensa-
tion directly from the employer.

SEC. 32. Compensation provided for in this Act shall be
payable for injuries sustained or death incurred by employes
engaged in the following extra-hazardous employments:

1. The operation, including construction and repair cf rail-
ways operated by steam, electric or other motive power, street
railways and incline railways, but not in their construction
when constructed by any person other than the company
which owns or operates the railways, including work of express,
sleeping, parlor and dining car employes on railways trains.

2. Construction and operation of railways not included in
paragraph one.

3. The operation, including construction and repair of car
shops, machine shops, steam and power plants, and other works
for the purposes of any such railway, or used or to be used in
