consecutively as 529-A, 529-B, 529-C, 529-D, 529-E, 529-F,
529-G, 529-H, 529-I, 529-J, 529-K, 529-L, 529-M, 529-N, 529-
O, 529-P and 529-Q, providing that the Board of County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County shall be and become a
Sewerage and Drainage Commission, with power to appoint
a Sanitary Engineer and fix his compensation; to establish
and define sewerage and drainage districts and areas, to con-
struct or -acquire and maintain sewerage and drainage sys-
tems ; to issue bonds for such amounts as may be found nec-
essary to construct the same, and levy taxes upon the taxable
property within such sewerage or drainage districts or areas,
to pay for the construction or acquisition of sewerage and
drainage systems, to provide for the maintenance of such
systems when constructed or acquired; to hold special elec-
tions at which the issuance or not of such bonds shall be de-
termined within the sewerage or drainage districts or areas
affected; to acquire private or municipal sewerage or drainage
plants already constructed, and to contract with the proper
authorities of Montgomery County in this State and of the
District of Columbia, if found expedient, to carry out the
purposes of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That seventeen new Sections of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland under a new sub-title designated
as "Sewerage and Drainage," numbered 529-A, 529-B. 529-C;
529-D, 529-E, 529-F, 529-G, 529-H, 529-I. 529-J, 529-K, 529-L,
529-M, 529-N, 529-O, 529-P and 529-Q, and the same are hereby
enacted to read as follows:
SEC. 529-A. Be it enacted, That the Board of County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County, be and are hereby author-
ized to act as a Sewerage and Drainage Commission for said
County; that for the purpose of considering and transacting
such business as may arise through the operation of this Act,
they shall convene regularly, once each month, or oftener, not
exceeding four times a month, however, should there be busi-
ness of sufficient importance or volume to warrant and at such
points as may be best suited to the business under consideration.
The compensation to be paid the members of said Commission
for the duties placed upon them by this Act shall not exceed
the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars each in any one
year. It shall be individually a sum bearing the same ratio to
the above maximum as the number of meetings attended by the
