1374 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 782.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's County to borrow a sum of money not to exceed sixty
thousand dollars ($60,000) for the purpose of paying off the
indebtedness of said County and to meet the current expenses,
and to levy and collect the necessary taxes for the payment
of the sum borrowed, and the interest to accrue thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow
sixty thousand dollars ($60,000), or so much thereof as may
be necessary, to pay off the indebtedness and meet the current
expenses of said County at a rate of interest not to exceed
six per centum (6%) per annum, and to execute their notes
as County Commissioners therefor.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall levy upon the assessable property in Queen
Anne's County, such sum of money as may be necessary to
pay - the interest on the outstanding notes, by them ex-
ecuted in pursuance of this Act, as the same shall fall due, and
also such further and additional sums as may be required to
pay the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) of the
amount borrowed out of the levy for 1914, the sum of fifteen
thousand dollars ($15,000) out of the levy of 1915, the sum of
ten thousand dollars ($10,000) out of the levy of 1916, the
sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) out of the levy of 1917
the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) out of the levy of
1918, as they may become due, and said taxes authorized by
this Act shall be collected as other taxes are collected.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 783.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
and County Treasurer for Talbot County to employ an addi-
tional assistant in the Treasurer's office, who shall be a sten-
ographer and typewriter, with a knowledge, of bookkeeping,
and to provide for the payment of the same; also to provide
