1342 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

full power and right to construct, erect, operate and maintain
all motors, wires, cables, poles, conduits, trenches, both above
and underground, and all other connections, structures, appur-
tenances and things necessary or proper for said purposes, and
shall have further power to build bridges over all navigable
and non-navigable streams which its routes may cross, depots
stations, machinery, powerhouses, car barns, and all appurte-
nances to said railway and all switches leading to and from
same, and all appropriate turnouts and connections and to
charge a reasonable rate for the transportation and conveyance
of persons and property upon and over said railways or any
part thereof; the route of said railway to begin at Nanticoke
Point, or some convenient point or place on the Nanticoke
River, on the west side of Wicomico County over such roads and
highways of Wicomico County as the County Commissioners
of the said County may authorize and designate, to Willard
or some convenient point on the each side of the said County,
and with the further power and privilege of extending the same
through the different towns and villages along the said route
or territory, and if the said corporation shall deem it advisable
and expedient, also the further power and authority to run
such laterals or branches within the said County as the Board
of County Commissioners and Town Commissioners of the va-
rious incorporated towns may permit. And the said company
hereby incorporated shall have power to lease, purchase, and
hold real and personal property of every sort and description
and convey and dispose of same, or may lease, rent, purchase,
contract, maintain, and operate piers, wharves, warehouses, sta-
tions, waiting rooms, or other personal property which may be
lawfully used in the management of a general transfer and
transportation business, both as to passengers and freight of
every description, and may acquire land, earth, gravel, stone,
water rights and other property and material and privileges
and rights necessary to the construction of said wharves, piers,
or warehouses and necessary to the exercise of any or all of
the powers herein granted to the said company by agreement
with the owners thereof or by condemnation, herein provided;
and the said company is hereby authorized to borrow money on
its property, and franchises by notes, mortgages or by any other
way which, in the judgment of the directors, may be right and
proper, and the said company may also issue bonds and secure
the same by mortgage or mortgages on its property; all subject,
however, to the Public Service Commission Law of Maryland
