and the like sum of Twelve hundred dollars for the fiscal year
1916; and in consideration of said appropriation the said F-
Knapp's English and German Institute is hereby required and
directed to maintain twelve free scholarships, heretofore estab-
lished in said institution, for the training and education of in-
digent mutes, and to train and educate twelve indigent mutes
and to furnish them with necessary text-books, appliances, etc.

99. To St. Francis Xavier School for Deaf and Dumb, the
sum of Three thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1915, and the
like sum of Three thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1916.

EDUCATIONAL—COLLEGIATE.

100. To the Maryland Institute for the promotion of the Me-
chanic Arts, the sum of Fifteen thousand dollars for the fiscal
year 1915, and the like sum of Fifteen thousand dollars for the
fiscal year 1916; provided one free scholarship be received from
each County of the State and one from each legislative district
of Baltimore City, respectively, upon the approval of the State
Senator of each County and the legislative districts of Baltimore
City.

101. To the McDonough Institute, La Plata, Maryland, the
sum of Four thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1915, and the
like sum of Four thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1916.

102. To the Anne Arundel County Academy, the sum of
Four thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1915, and the like sum
of Four thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1916.

103. To the Maryland State University, the sum of Fifteen
thousand dollars for medical education for the fiscal year 1915,
and the like sum of Fifteen thousand dollars for medical educa-
cation for the fiscal year 1916, together with the further sum of
Five thousand dollars for administration purposes for the fiscal
year 1915, and the like sum of Five thousand dollars for admin-
istration purposes for the fiscal year 1916.

104. To the Charlotte Hall School, St. Mary's County, the
sum of Seventy-five hundred dollars for maintenance for the
fiscal year 1915, and the like sum of Seventy-five hundred dollars
for maintenance for the fiscal year 1916, together with the fur-
ther sum of Ten thousand dollars for buildings for the fiscal
year 1915.

105. To the Johns Hopkins University, the sum of Twenty-
five thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1915, and the like sum
