118-G, 118-H, 118-1, 118-J and 118-K, of Article 8, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title Cecil County, sub-title
"Roads, " to follow Section 118 thereof as enacted by Chapter
62 of the Acts of General Assembly of 1910, be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 11.
AN ACT to authorize and require the County Commissioners of
Howard County to make a special levy of not more than
twenty cents on each one hundred dollars of the whole assess-
able property situated in the village of Elk Ridge, Howard
County, for the use and purpose of the betterment of the
roads, sidewalks, sanitary measures, drainage and other im-
provements in said village, if twenty-five or more persons
residing in said village, and owning taxable real or personal
property in said village shall petition therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Howard County, at the
time of the annual tax levy for the year nineteen hundred and
fourteen, and each succeeding year, are hereby authorized,
directed and required to make a special annual levy of such
amount as may be mentioned in the petition hereinafter re-
ferred to, on each one hundred dollars of the whole assessable
property, situated in the village of Elk Ridge, Howard County,
to be collected as other County taxes in said County are col-
lected, and the revenue derived from said special annual levy
to be used by the said County Commissioners of Howard County
for the sole purpose of the betterment of the roads, sidewalks,
sanitary measures, drainage and other improvements in said
village of Elk Ridge; provided, twenty-five or more persons re-
siding in said village and owning such taxable real or personal
property in said village, shall, prior to each annual levy, peti-
tion the said County Commissioners, thereby asking that such
special levy be made, and in said petition mentioning the
amount desired to be specially levied, provided, that the same
shall not exceed the sum of twenty cents on each one hundred
dollars of assessable property as aforesaid; provided, however,
that all taxes collected under the provisions of this Act shall
