Article 58 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,,
title "Live Stock," and to read as follows:
SEC. 40. That for the purpose of further carrying out the
provisions of Section fifteen (15) of this Article, and to pay
a live stock patrol along the State borders, which is hereby
authorized and shall be named by the Chief Veterinary In-
spector and shall receive such compensation as may be stipu-
lated by him, the duty of said patrol being to prevent any live
stock from being shipped or brought into this State which may
be. affected with any contagious or infectious disease, contrary
to the laws regulating the shipment or bringing of such live
stock into this State, the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars,
annually is hereby appropriated, or so much thereof as may
be necessary.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 693.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 78 of
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arun-
del County," sub-title "Birds, Game and Foxes," prescribing:
closed season in Anne Arundel County for ortolan, sora, rail
birds and reed birds.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 78 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Anne Arundel County," sub-title "Birds, Game
and Foxes," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:
SEC. 78. It shall not be lawful for any person to hunt, shoot,
catch, kill or otherwise destroy any ortolan, sora, rail bird or
reed bird in Anne Arundel County, or upon any of the marshes
of the Patuxent, Potomac or Patapsco Rivers within the State-
of Maryland, except between the first day of September and
the first day of November in each and every year.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect,
from the date of its passage.
