now required by law to be paid to incorporated towns im
said county; also empowering the said Citizens' Committee,
subject to the approval of said Board of County Commission-
ers, to assess the cost of certain special improvements against
the property abutting on streets, roads, lanes and sidewalks for
certain improvements, the collection of such assessment and
disbursement thereof for the benefits of the residents of said
village; also empower said Citizens' Committee, subject to the
approval of the Board of County Commissioners, to acquire
by purchase, condemnation or otherwise property for sewerage
disposal purposes and to assess the cost against the property
using the same; also for the authorization to hold meetings of
the resident registered and qualified voters to request the
special levy and to elect the Chevy Chase Citizens' Commit-
tee; also to authorize the said Citizens' Committee to make a
new contract, or ratify an existing contract with the Chevy
Chase Club; also to repeal Chapter 383 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1910, authorizing special
levies for said village of Chevy Chase, in so far as the same
may apply to that part of the village of Chevy Chase de-
scribed herein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purposes of this Act Section 2 and part of
Section 1 of the village of Chevy Chase, of Montgomery County,
Maryland, as hereinafter described, shall constitute a special
tax area or district, and shall be deemed and taken to comprise
certain parcels of land, namely:

The sub-division of land in said Montgomery County made
by the Chevy Chase Land Company of Montgomery County
and known as Section 2, as per plat recorded in Plat Book No.
2, page 106 of the Land Records of said Montgomery County,
excluding the property of the Chevy Ohase Club; also that part
of the land in said Montgomery County heretofore owned by
the said Chevy Chase Land Company and known as Section 1,
comprised within the following metes and bounds: Beginning
for the same at the southwest corner of the Chevy Chase Club
property on the Rockville Turnpike; thence in a southerly di-
restion with the east side of the Rockville Turnpike to a point
125 feet due south from a prolongation of the south line of
Grafton Street in said Section 2; thence due east on a line par-
allel with said Grafton Street and its prolongation and 125 feet
south thereof to the point of intersection with the boundary
line of the District of Columbia; thence in a northwesterly di-
