PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 1001

CHAPTER 599.

AN ACT requiring the County Commissioners of Frederick
County, Maryland, to pay the Burgess and Commissioners of
Woodsboro, Frederick County, Maryland, one-fourth of the
franchise tax on deposits paid by the Woodsboro Savings Bank
of Frederick County, Maryland, to the County Commissioners
of Frederick County for the years 1900 to 1913, inclusive.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Frederick County,
Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
levy against the assesseable property in Frederick County,
Maryland, for the year 1914 the sum of $1048.67, said sum be-
ing one-fourth of the franchise tax paid by the Woodsboro Sav-
ings Bank of Frederick County, Maryland, to the County Com-
missioners of Frederick County, Maryland, for the years 1900
to 1913, inclusive, which sum so levied shall be paid to the Bur-
gess and Commissioners of Woodsboro on or before the first day
of October, A. D. 1914.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 13th, 1914.

CHAPTER 600.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the Board of Police Commis-
sioners of Baltimore City to pay to Mrs. Edith E. McClena-
han, formerly matron at the Northern Police Station in Bal-
timore City, a weekly pension.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Edith E. McClenahan served faithfully as
matron at the Northern Police Station in Baltimore City from
January, 1900, to June, 1912, and during all said period she con-
tributed to the pension fund; and,

WHEREAS; Said Edith E. McClenahan was obliged to retire
from her said position as matron because of severe illness
whereby she has since been incapacitated from work of any
sort and from earning her livelihood; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Police Commissioners of Baltimore City
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay to
the said Edith E. McClenahan, formerly matron as aforesaid,
