Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly hereby expressly reserves the power at
all times to repeal, alter or amend this charter.

CHAPTER 72.

 

AN ACT to appoint and authorize certain per-
snos, in Kent county, to purchase real estate in
Kent county, from Samuel E. Baker, of said
county, to be held in trust for the Methodist
Episcopal Church on Kent Circuit, for the pur-
pose of holding Camp Meetings or other Meet-
ings on the same, Sunday School Festivals, &c.

19, 1862.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James H. Edes, John N. Usil-
ton, Thomas Baker, George H. Levefton, James
Gale, Josiah Massey, and Joseph A. Harper, be
and they are hereby constituted a body politic, by
the name of the trustees of Camp Meetings, and

other purposes of the Methodist Episcopal Church
on Kent Circuit, with full power and authority to
contract for, purchase and take title, by deed, to
a quantity of wood and other land, in Kent coun-
ty, containing not more than ten acres, from Sam-
uel E. Baker, of said county, or from him and
wife, together with such rights of way and privi-
leges of water, as they may be able to secure, and
that the said deed shall be to them and their suc-
cessors forever, in trust to, and for the use of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, on Kent Circuit, in
holding and conducting Camp Meetings, Sunday
School Meetings or Festivals, or other Meetings,
and for such purposes as may be considered useful
or advantageous to the said Church, or any of the
moral, religious, literary, or other institutions of
the said Church.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trus-
tees, or their successors shall have power to sue
and be sued in any of the courts in this State.
