CHAPTER 63.

Passed Jan.
8, 1862.

AN ACT to provide for the holding of Corporation

Elections in Frederick city.

Elections may
be held tempo-
rarily at City
Hall.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Mayor, Aldermen and
Common Council of Frederick be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to hold elections
for the Mayor and five Aldermen for said city, at
the City Hall in Frederick, until the Court-house,
now in process of erection, shall be completed.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 64.

Passed Jan.
22, 1862.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay
George W. Jefferson for extra clerical services
in the Executive Department.

Appropriation

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of five hundred dollars
be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay
Geo. W. Jefferson for extra clerical services in the
Executive Department of the State of Maryland.

Treasurer
authorized to
pay.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer, upon
the warrant of the Comptroller shall pay to the
said George W. Jefferson the said sum of five hun-
dred dollars.

In force.

Sec 3. Be it enacted, That this act shall take ef-
fect from its passage.
