ing pupils, in any school district, and shall not
be paid more than four hundred dollars per an-
num.

90. Be it enacted, That the members of the Board
of Commissioners of Public Schools of Montgomery
county shall receive the following compensation
for their services : President of the Board, three
dollars, and each of the other members, two dol-
lars per day, for every day they may be occupied
in attending the meetings of the Board ; and the

of the board when in attendance upon such duties
as the Board may assign them ; provided, the said
Commissioners, or either, shall not charge for
more than ten days in any one year.

Proviso.

93. Be it enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery county shall, on the first
Thursday after the first Monday of March, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty two, and every two years
thereafter, if the same may in their judgment be
deemed necessary and proper, appoint two District
Commissioners for each School District, and when-
ever thereafter there may be any vacancy from any
cause in such office of District School Commis-
sioners, at their first meeting after such vacancy,
appoint other competent citizens from the respective
Election Districts in which said vacancy may
occur.

95. Be it enacted, That all funds in the hands
of the present Treasurer of the School Fund, and
all other funds which may be by any law of this
State applicable to purposes of education in said
county, shall be paid directly to the Treasurer of
the Board of Commissioners of Public Schools,
who may be elected under the provisions of this
act, and the balance necessary for the support of
schools, and the building of school houses, shall
be annually estimated by the Board of Commis-
sioners of Public Schools, who shall report the
same to the County Commissioners, who are hereby
authorized to levy the sum so estimated and re-
ported, upon the assessable property of the county,
if they shall deem the same expedient, to be col-
lected in the same manner as other taxes are or
hereafter may be collected ; the school tax when
