Act — how con-
sidered, &c.
|
Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall
be taken and considered as part of the said act of
eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter one hun-
dred and thirty- three, and its said supplements, and
the other acts in the first section hereof mentioned,
whenever the same shall be accepted by the Stock-
holders of said Bank, in general meeting assem-
bled, after such notice of said meeting as the Presi-
dent and Directors may prescribe for that purpose,
which assent shall be certified to the Comptroller
of the State, under the corporate seal of said Bank;
and until such acceptance, said act of eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, and its supplements, and
said other acts mentioned shall be continued in
force as at present.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect and operation from and after the
time of its acceptance as provided for in the next
preceding section.

AN ACT to authorize the Hagerstown Female
Seminary to raise money to pay off its debts,
and in further amendment of its charter, passed
January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-
two, chapter one hundred and seventy-five.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, the Hagerstown Female Seminary, in-
corporated by an act of the General Assembly
of this State, at the January session, eighteen
hundred and fifty-two, chapter one hundred and
seventy-five, is indebted to a considerable amount,
for its building, furniture and other purposes, and
has by its Board of Trustees, applied for an act
to enable it to raise money to pay said debts,
or in default thereof, to sell its building and
other property for that purpose ; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall be lawful for those
