AN ACT for the benefit of William J. Emory,
the legal representative of Anne L. Emory, late
of Queen Anne's county, deceased.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, is hereby directed to pay
to William J. Emory, the legal representative of
Anne L. Emory, the widow of Gideon Emory,
late a Lieutenant in the War of the Revolution,
the amount of the half pay of a Lieutenant in the
Revolutionary Army, for five years, being the sum
of eight hundred dollars, and which said sum of
money shall be in lieu of all claim said William
J. Emory, as legal representative, may possess for
bounty land, rations and money expended by his
father, the late Gideon Emory, and the pension
due his mother, the late Anne L. Emory.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT to compensate the members of the Peace
Conference appointed by the Executive of the
State to represent Maryland at Washington
during the winter of eighteen hundred and
sixty-one.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be and he is
hereby authorized and required to pay, upon the
warrant of the Comptroller, to Reverdy Johnson,
J. Dixon Roman, A. W. Bradford, Benjamin C.
Howard, John W. Crisfield, William T. Goldsbo-
rough and John F. Dent, each, the sum of two
hundred dollars, as compensation for their services
as members of the Peace Conference assembled at
