AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay
Eleanora B. Watkins, widow of the late Coir
Gassaway Watkins, a Captain in the American
Revolution, on account of pension money due
and unpaid from the sixteenth of July, eighteen
hundred and forty, to the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, by Act of Assembly passed January
session, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, the
said Eleanor B. Watkins was allowed a pen-
sion equal to the half pay of a Captain in the
American Revolution ; and whereas, it appears
to this General Assembly, that the pension as
therein allowed, should have dated from the
sixteenth day of July, eighteen hundred' and
forty, the date of the death of her said husband,
instead of the first day of January, eighteen
hundred and fifty-two : Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of two thousand seven
hundred and fifty dollars, be and the same is here-
by appropriated, and the Treasurer upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, is hereby directed to pay
the said Eleanor B. Watkins, or order, the said
sum of money, or as much thereof as may upon
the Comptroller's exainination be found to be due
her, at the rate of two hundred and forty dollars,
per annum, from the death of her said, husband to
the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
fifty-two.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
