CHAPTER 185.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support
of the Government, for the year ending on the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and
sixty-four.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That for the expenditures in the
support of the Government, for the year ending
on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, the following sums of money, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, be and the
same are hereby appropriated, that is to say ;

STATE OFFICERS.

1864.

For the salary of the Governor of the State,
thirty-six hundred dollars ; for the salary of the
Secretary of the State, one thousand dollars ; for
the salary of the Private Secretary of the Gover-
nor, eight hundred dollars ; for the salary of the
Comptroller of the Treasury Department, two
thousand five hundred dollars ; for the salary of
the Chief Clerk of Comptroller, one thousand two
hundred dollars ; for the salary of the Assistant
Clerk of the Comptroller, seven hundred dollars ;
for the salary of the Treasurer of this State, two
thousand five hundred dollars ; for the salary of
the Clerk of the Treasurer, one thousand two hun-
dred dollars ; for the salary of the Commissioner
of the Land Office, seven hundred and fifty dol-
lars, including compensation for keeping Chancery
Record ; for the salary of the Librarian, one thou-
sand dollars ; to the Commissioners of Public
Works, two hundred dollars each, eight hundred
dollars.

JUDICIARY.

For the salaries of the Judges of the Court of
Appeals, ten thousand dollars ; to the Sheriff "and
Crier to the Court of Appeals, one thousand dol-
lars ; to the State's subscription to two hundred
copies of two volumes of the Reports of the De-
cisions of the Court of Appeals, two thousand
