CHAPTER 157.

Passed March
3, 1862.

AN ACT to amend ^the one hundred and forty-
sixth section of the eighty-first Article of the
Code of Public General Laws, relating to the
payments into the Treasury of certain taxes re-
ceived by Clerks and Register of Wills.

Repealed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the one hundred and forty-sixth sec-
tion of the eighty-first Article of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to the payments into the
Treasury of certain taxes received by Clerks and
Registers of Wills, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and the following enacted in lieu thereof :

146. It shall be the duty of the several Clerks
and Registers of Wills in this State to account
with, upon oath, and pay to the Treasurer on the
first Monday of March, June, September and No-
vember in each year, or within thirty days there-
after, all sums of money received by them respec-
tively under this article for which they shall be
allowed a commission of five per centum on the
amount so paid over.

 

CHAPTER 158.

AN ACT to compensate the owners of the steamer
Pioneer and other vessels engaged in the en-
forcement of the Oyster Laws.

ed to issue war-
rant, &c.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Comptroller be
and he is hereby directed to issue his warrant
upon the Treasurer to pay the owners of the
steamer "Pioneer," or order, four hundred and
twenty-six dollars for use of said steamer in
the enforcement of the Oyster Laws, by order
of the Sheriff of Dorchester county; also to pay
the owners of the steamer " Cecil," or order, two
hundred dollars for use of said steamer by the
