CHAPTER 119.

AN ACT to amend the seventieth section of the
fifty-sixth Article of the Code of Public Gene-
ral Laws, relating to Licenses for Ordinaries.

Passed Feb.
19, 1862.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the seventieth section of the
fifty-sixth Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, relating to Licenses for Ordinaries be and
the same is hereby repealed, and the following
enacted in lieu thereof:

Repealed.

If any person or body politic shall propose to
open or keep an ordinary he shall apply to the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of the county in which
said applicant may reside, or if he reside in the
city of Baltimore, to the Court of Common Pleas,
for a license therefor ; under which license spiritu-
ous or fermented liquors, or lager beer, may be
bartered or sold in quantities less than a pint.

Licenses for
Ordinaries.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect on the thirtieth day of April next.

In force.

CHAPTER 120.

 

AN ACT to amend the twenty-second Article of
the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Comptroller, by adding thereto the following
section, relating to issuing forms of protest to
Notaries Public.

Passed Feb.
19, 1862.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following section be and
the same is hereby added to the twenty-second
Article of the Code of Public General Laws, to
follow the twenty -fourth section of said article :

He shall cause to be printed in the forms here-
tofore used and sanctioned by law, blank protests,
of bills of exchange and promissory notes, and
