Banking pri-
vileges with-
held.
Proviso.
|
nothing herein contained shall be so construed as
to confer any banking privileges, upon the said
corporation, or any authority to issue any note,
certificate, device or token to be used as currency ;
provided, that a majority of said corporators and
their successors shall at all times be citizens of the
United States, or persons who shall comply with
the conditions of the first section of the fourth Ar-
ticle of the Code of Public General Laws.

Sec. 2 . And be it enacted, That Francis Patrick
Henrick, Archbishop of Baltimore, be and he is
hereby appointed Honorary President thereof.

Reservation.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly of Maryland hereby expressly reserves
the power at all times to repeal, alter or amend
|
Proviso.
|
this charter ; provided, however, that when the
said charter shall be so repealed, all the property,
real, personal and mixed, then belonging to the
said association or their successors", in possession or
action, shall remain with and belong to the proper
owners thereof, their assignees or legal represen-
tatives.

In force.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect from the time of ite passage.

CHAPTER 116.

AN ACT to amend article four of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore city, by repeal-
ing sections five hundred and fifty-two, five
hundred and fifty-three, five hundred and fifty-
four, five hundred and fifty-six, five hundred
and sixty-five and five hundred and sixty-six,
in relation to the inspection and cording of fire
wood, and substituting in lieu thereof the fol-
lowing sections relating to the same subject.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That sections five hundred and fifty-
two, five hundred and fifty-three, five hundred
