CHAPTER 95.

Passed March
1, 1862.

AN ACT to make valid a deed from Susan E. B.
Yates, formerly Susan E. B. Etherington, to
Thomas H. Harris, of Kent county.

Deed made
valid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the deed from Susan E. B.
Yates, formerly Susan E. B. Etherington, to
Thomas H. Harris, bearing date the thirteenth
day of August, in the year eighteen hundred and
fifty-three, for an undivided moiety of a house and
lot of land, containing three acres, more or less,
situated in Belle Air, in Kent county, and recorded
in Liber J. T. G., number one, pages four hundred
forty-six, four hundred forty-seven and four hun-
dred and forty-eight, one of the Land Record
Books for Kent county, be and the same is hereby
made as valid and effectual in law, as if the said
deed bad been acknowledged according to law, and
a certificate of said acknowledgment, duly authen-
ticated, has been duly recorded with and as a part

Proviso.

of said deed ; provided, nothing herein shall pre-
judice any creditor or person, without notice.

In force

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

 

CHAPTER 96.

Passed March.
4, 1862.

AN ACT to repeal section forty-seven of. Article
sixty-six of the Code of Public General Laws in
relation to Free Negroes coming into the State,
and to enact the following additional sections as
a supplement to the original act.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section forty-seven of Article
