Sec. 6. Be it enacted, That the provisions of this
act shall also apply to any Constitutional State
Convention that may hereafter be called or con-
vene in this State.

To apply.

Sec. 7. Be it enacted, That if the Legislature
shall be called together by the Governor of this
State upon a shorter notice than four weeks, then
it shall be lawful for the Comptroller to advertise
in the manner prescribed in this act, for proposals
previously mentioned according as circumstances
and time will allow.

Sec. 8. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect on and after the eleventh day of March, in
the year eighteen hundred and sixty-four.

CHAPTER 406.

 

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay
the claims of William Schley, Henry W. Archer
and Thomas G. Pratt, for professional services
rendered the State.

Passed Mar.
10, 1864.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue , his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay William Schley, or order, five
hundred dollars for professional services rendered
by him under appointment of the Commissioners
of Public Works; to pay Henry W. Archer, or
order, three hundred dollars for professional ser-
vices rendered the Comptroller of Maryland; to
pay Thomas G. Pratt, or order, the sum of four
hundred dollars for professional services rendered
by him, under employment of the Treasurer, in
the Circuit Court for Harford county, sitting in
equity, and in the Court of Appeals, in the case
of the State of Maryland against A. Lingan
Jarrett and Sprigg Harwood.
