AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay
John M. Carter for extra clerical services in the
Executive Department, connected directly with
the Adjutant General's Department of the State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of five hundred dollars
($500) be and the same is hereby appropriated to
pay John M. Carter for extra clerical services in
the Executive Department of the State of Mary-
land connected directly with the Adjutant Gen-
eral's Department of the State.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted. That the Treasurer, upon
the warrant of the Comptroller, shall pay to the
said John M. Carter the said sum of five hundred
dollars.

Sec. 3. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN A CT to incorporate the Miles River Wharf
Company, at Miles River Ferry in Talbot
county.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland., That Reuben Tharp, Samuel T. Hop-
kins and Joseph Raisin, and their associates, suc-
cessors and assigns, be and they are hereby created
a corporation and body politic, by the name of the
" Miles River Wharf Company," and by that name
may have succession, and shall be able and capable
in law to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded,
answer and be answered unto, in any court of law
or equity in this State, and to make and use a com-
mon seal, to ordain and establish such by-laws and
