A SUPPLEMENT to the act entitled, an "Act
to incorporate the Frederick and Emmettsburg
Turnpike Company," passed December Session
eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter one
hundred and thirty-six.

Authorized
to construct
road.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Frederick and Emmetts-
burg Turnpike Company be and are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to construct a turnpike
road from the terminus of their present road at
Emmettsburg to the Pennsylvania line, on and
over the bed of the present road leading from Em-
mettsburg to Gettysburg, and are hereby vested
with all the powers granted by their original
charter to effect said object, and are charged with
the same duties and liable to the same penalties
imposed by their charter.

Tolls.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That the said
company be and are authorized to charge for toll
per mile at the same rate allowed by the original
charter.

Power to
change loca-
tion.
|
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the board
of managers of said company be and are hereby
authorized from time to time, as the necessities or
convenience of said company may require, to alter
and change the location of their toll gates.

In force.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect from the day of its passage.
