CHAPTER 379.

Passed Mar.

7, 1864

AN ACT to allow Seth W. Warfield, former
Sheriff and Collector of Taxes, for Harford coun-
ty, further time to complete his collections

Authorized
to collect fees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Seth W. Warfield, former
Sheriff and Collector of Taxes, for Howard county,
be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to
collect all fees and claims due him as such, Sheriff
and Collector, in the same manner and as fully to
all intents and purposes as if the original time al-

lowed by law had not expired; provided, that
nothing in this act shall be construed to extend
the time of payment of any money due from said
Warfield as collector of the State and County
Taxes as aforesaid; and provided further, that
said Collector shall make affidavit to every account
which he shall claim to collect, that he has not re-
ceived the said taxes nor any part thereof, except
such as credit is given for in said account.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage, and shall
continue in force one year and no longer.

 

CHAPTER 380.

4, 1864.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act entitled, an act to
Incorporate the American Telegraph Company,
passed December session eighteen hundred and
forty-seven.

Name chang-
ed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the name of American Tele-
graph Company is hereby changed to that of the
Independent Line of Telegraph, and by said name
