CHAPTER 39.

AN ACT to repeal the one hundred and twenty-
third section of the thirtieth Article of the Code
of Public General Laws prescribing the punish-
ment of manslaughter, and enacting a new sec-
tion in lieu thereof.
|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the one hundred and twenty-
third section of the thirtieth Article of the Code
of Public General Laws, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and the following enacted in lieu there-
of: Every person convicted of the crime of man-
slaughter shall be sentenced to the penitentiary for
not more than ten years, or, in the discretion of the
Court, may be fined not more than five hundred
dollars, or be imprisoned in jail for not more than
two years, or both fined and imprisoned in jail.

Regulates
punishment.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
abate any cases pending, but this act shall regu-
late the punishment in said cases.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to provide for the transcribing of the
General Index to the Land Records, of Allegany
county from seventeen -hundred and ninety-one
to eighteen hundred and fifty, in the office of
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Allegany county be and he is hereby required
